Description
Sus IV Description
Sus IV is a meticulously crafted pedal designed to provide clean sustain for your guitar. This is an excellent pedal for those wishing to do everything from clean blues, all the way through to jazz or even rock. This pedal when used with other pedals should be placed at or close to the beginning of the chain.
As noted above, if your guitar uses single-coil or non-noiseless pickups, the very high gain boost of the Sus-IV, during the endings of sustained notes, will amplify the hum and noise typically associated with these pickups. We highly recommend using noiseless or hum-canceling pickups with this pedal for the best experience.
Controls
Level Knob
Adjust the level to correspond with your amp’s specs. Consider setting this knob at just over halfway for normal conditions, except under circumstances where overdrive of the front-end of the amplifier is desired. The unity gain position is approximately one o’clock, but this might change with certain guitars.
Highs
This pedal uses compression. Because of this it is sometimes nessary to add back a little bit of highs that compression sometimes causes you to lose. We have found that twelve o’clock or one o’clock should be sufficient if needed, although going even higher can produce an even sweeter sound depending on your guitar pickups.
Sustain
This knob is self explanatory. Maximum will be achieved if the knob is full and a minimal amount if the knob is fully counter clockwise.
Mix
This knob is also self explanatory. It serves as a blend between the output of the pedal effect and the direct signal.

Sound Samples
The sample presented here was played by Frank Marino directly into the Sus IV, routed through Frank’s amplifier (Fender Twin style) / speaker system, and recorded into the DAW. Simultaneously, the sound had been also captured via a DI, directly into another track in the DAW. That file was later re-amped through the Sus IV in bypass mode, reconnected to Frank’s amplifier, and re-recorded into the DAW on another track. This process enables the comparison presented above on the page.

Power / Battery
This unit does not include a 9-Volt Battery. To install the 9-Volt battery, remove the four screws located on the bottom of the pedal.
To ensure proper and safe usage of this pedal, it is essential to power it with a 2.1mm 9-Volt DC regulated external power supply with a negative center.
Use of an incorrect power supply will lead to damage of your pedal, which can be both costly and time-consuming to repair.
